I believe people of all religious backgrounds and systems of belief can get along. More than that, I believe we have to if we expect to survive. Below are links to websites with information on many systems of belief, related articles, inspiration, and of course, humor. :) These are only a small sampling of what's available. I'm certain I've left out some excellent sources of information, as well as some popular philosophies and faiths. Please feel free to email me to help remedy this situation.
There is no special link for About.com below, but it's a great site with lots of information (and more links!) on many, many topics, including many of the spiritual and philosophical paths listed below. Be sure to check them out!
While I do not necessarily endorse any of these sites or the group(s) who run them, I believe they provide good information. Some sites were left out because it was clear on their opening page that their message was more along the lines of Why This Way Is Correct, rather than simply disseminating information. That message may yet be there in some of the following sites, as I have not fully explored them. I hope I have not caused offense, only offered information and, perhaps, a sense of optimism. As always, feel free to email comments and suggestions for additions or deletions.
Knowledge is the best weapon with which one can arm oneself against ignorance. If we can break the ignorance - fear - hatred - violence chain, we will be well on our way to peace and spiritual growth.

The following prayer is meant to embrace all systems of belief, whether one believes in higher power(s) or not. To paraphrase one wise person, "Prayer is merely the subconscious asking itself for help." So, whether you are agnostic, athiestic, monotheistic, pantheistic, believe in ancestor worship, animism, magic, earth spirits, some or none of the above, I hope you will take a little time out of every day to compose a similar thought and send it out into the universe.
Skyward, Earthbound, Elemental, Heavenly, Familial, and Everpresent Deities who occupy the hearts and minds of Earth's Peoples, I invite you to be present now to hear this prayer. I ask that you help humankind move always towards greater compassion and understanding, so we may see that it is not the color of our skins, the methods of our cultures, how we dress, with whom we spend our lives, nor the part of the globe we occupy that makes us who we are, but that it is what is in our hearts that matters. Help us overcome prejudice, hate, and oppression so that we can clear the way for support, love, and diversity. Let us see and remember on a daily basis that kindness overcomes all ills, and kindness towards the weakest of us is the greatest strength of all. Bring us the insight to create a society that values preservation of the environment so that future generations may know the beauty with which we have been blessed. Give us the knowledge that we are all interrelated and that in order to survive we must come together in peace and harmony. Grant our leaders wisdom and the desire to see a true worldwide peace begun, free of hypocrisy and greed. Our inner creativity and light shall lead us to a place of love, understanding, and embracement of all that is good, including that which we have yet to learn.
